What is Bupron used for?
Bupron is used for relieving the symptoms of depression. It can help balance chemicals in your brain to reduce your withdrawal symptoms. Burpron also helps quit smoking and withdraw from nicotine.
Bupron is one of two prescription medications covered under the BC Smoking Cessation program. Bupron is a prescription-only treatment that works by changing the brain's response to nicotine. It makes smoking less pleasurable and reduces craving while you work on your smoking habits. Start taking bupron about two weeks before you quit smoking. The recommended dose of bupron to help you quit smoking is to take one 150mg tablet once a day in the morning for the first 3 days. From Day 4 to the end of treatment, take one 150 mg tablet twice a day, at least 8 hours between doses.
